A girl's guide to looking good in freezing temperartures.

I hate winter. I hate the cold. Layering and layering and heavy coats are not my idea of fashion savvy but no matter how much I want the cold to go away and put back on those sleeveless tops. Its just not happening.
So here are some ideas to brighten up that pea-jacket, ski jacket or lined leather coat you faithfully wear each year. Scarves in  brilliant colors like yellow, green and red or off whites will liven up that coat. They don't have to necessarily match your gloves.

Leather gloves in bright colors like hot pink  or black studded or bow tied can break up  that humdrum winter look.
I am not a fan of hats but as we all know hats keep you warmer as the temperatures dip in the teens.
So go for a faux fur brimmed hat and matching gloves to set off that coat.  Hats  will keep you toasty.

One more thing don't forget the pooch. A scarf and hat will brighten up his or her day too.

Step into boots

If you are looking for that one item to buy this season make it boots, boots and more boots. Hopefully you'll find a great pair of boots under the Christmas tree.
Boots hitting the ankles, to  the knee or above the knee....suede, leather, heeled or flat.
One of the hottest items are boots and everyone can wear them. Leather motorcycle boots are the rage slightly heeled but definitely deocorated with studs or buckles.  Girls you can walk in these.

High heeled suede boots in gray defy the usual black boot. Thigh high boots take the high road cut above the knee worn with a mini sweater dress   Stiletto- heeled boots dress up that little dress for that night on the town breaking away from the traditional high heel pump.

Boots trimmed in fur along with the traditional Ughs keep you warm during this cold winter season.
So if your  going to spring for one item this winter season make it a pair of boots
Keep warm and  keep Styling in Delco.

Style me Happy!

Looking good is important but feeling confident is even more important when you are trying to find a job.  Marc Voci's Salon and Colorbar in Folsom was the scene of a transformation for five lucky women looking for a new look to help give them confidence on their job hunts.  Clarins regional makeup artists were on hand to show the women how to accent their beauty and play down any flaws. Voci and his stylists cut and highlighted each woman's hair in a matter of hours making the transformation complete.
The Career Wardrobe staff helped the women pick out outfits from head to toe. These women are now   interview ready. They even added an outfit for that first day on the job.  The Career Wardrobe has assistd over 70,000 women since their inception in 1995. Located in Philadelphia, their staff tries to inspire women and help them achieve self confidence and independence through programs they hold. If you are in need of clothing and going through transistions check out their website: http://careerwardrobe.org/. They also have The Wardrobe Boutique ttp://www.wardrobeboutique.org/located at 1822 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia where you can shop regardless of your position in life. Its a place for us frugal fashonistas.
Style Me Happy was the concept of salon owner Marc Voci who wanted to make the community aware of the unemployment crisis. Voci had individuls who wanted to be considered for the makeover register on online, upload a photo and write a paragraph about why they deserved a makeover.
Denise Searfass, Karen Fisher, Valerie Keebler, Lyn McCafferty and Virginia Cheung were the lucky five who had a chance to enhance their beauty and pick out professional clothes.
McCaffery, an editor, has been out of work since June of 2010.  She has filled out over 200 job applications.
Voci believes that happiness comes from within  especially when you look and feel good.  These women were pampered, made stars by Fox's morning show, Good Day Philadelphia and happy with  the outcome. Check out these looks.  If you are thinking of changing jobs this upcoming year or looking for a better position in your company. Here are some looks you can put together.
You can check out Marc Voci Salon and Colorbar on Facebook.
When you feel good about yourself others sense it,  You give off positive feelings and  bring forth good vibes.  Good luck ladies. Keep Styling in Delco.

Glam it up for those holiday parties.

Glamour is back!!!
Are you getting ready for all those holiday parties, trips to the theater, and late nite dinners in Media.   Its always a challenge. Lets not resort to holiday sweaters with fuzzy reindeers on the front. Its time to glam it up.

Bing Images.

Sequin tops, lots of lace, animal prints and lots of rhinestone accessories.  The bigger the better. Cube rings, layered necklaces, rhinestone and stone bracelets and dangling  earrings   will give any little black dress or jeans that holiday feel.

That little black dress accented with bows, ruffles, sequins and lace will make you the life of the party and beautiful to boot.  If black isn't your style, why not a leopard print?  Add some stilleto black sequin or leopard heels.  Who needs glass slippers?
For those who love their jeans, go for a sequin top, lots of jewelry and studded ankle boots.Carry a wrislet covered in sequins, velvet or fur with all your necessities and you are ready to take the town by storm. A toast to you. You're looking good.  Here's to the holidays. Happy Shopping.!!!
